Don’t Panic. We’ve Got This.

Climate change isn’t the end of the world. The world is not going to end in 10 years or 100 years. The world isn’t going to end for at least another 4 billion years. Give or take a large object crashing into it.

Humanity will not go extinct in the next 10 years or the next 100 or even the next 1000. It’s going to take a lot more than a 2-degree shift in temperature to wipe us out. Going outside might suck but we will live on.

The climate is changing and we lack the tools to do a whole lot about it. What we can do is focus on the issues we can solve with the tools we have. There’s not much we can to do about the rising temperatures and the chaos that’ll bring. What we can do is move people out of harm’s way. We can stop the hemorrhaging and at least bring it down to a slow bleed. We can gather up all the shit we’ve left lying around and find a better way of dealing with it. We can slow down with how much shit we make and leave laying around. There are lots of things we can do. We just have to want to. But first, we have to stop panicking.

Wither that it’s the end of the world or the end of your world. We have to stop panicking. There are many solvable problems to deal with. We just need to take a breath and refocus. So if we could altogether take a deep breath. Shake off whatever had got our backs up. Exhale and let’s get this started together.
